All the other Creative products for Laptops have had nothing more than Fake Surround sound in headphones. This Sound Blaster has the connections and even has the 5.1 in the name. So far so good. I get Boom out of the sub-woofer and the sound is pretty darn good. Maybe my speakers are dated and Maybe I will acquire a fiber-optic speaker system. Get the real surround sound and get a usb Blaster.
