Creative Albums by Donna Downey (2005, Paperback)

I love books by Donna Downey, she always has the most inspiring and unique ideas for making your scrapbooks even more exciting. Her easy step-by-step descriptions make it fun to create your very own little memory book by using all or just parts of her ideas that are showcased with amazing pictures.
The best of all, you really do not need a lot of extra tools or hard to find items to get the desired effect.
Most things are already at home or at least unexpensive things that can be purchased almost anywhere.
I have surprised not just family but also relatives with the wonderful reproductions of Donna Downeys ideas and they already have inspired the recipients to start this hobby themselves.

I really enjoyed this book. I like making my own albums so this was just the book I needed for unique ways to present my pictures. I think people get a kick out of looking at a homemade album especially paper bags or mini books, etc. because they are unique presentations--at least that's been my experience.

I have made a few handmade albums and this book has given me some creative ways to make different kinds.

My favorite project in the book was the Accordion album. I saw one of these in another book and attempted to make it, but it didn't turn out well until I did it using Donna's instructions which I thought were great.

I realized that you can use a lot of scraps with these album projects. The album I did was made totally from scrap paper. Another thing to consider is that you can save money by making your own albums as opposed to purchasing them for $15.99 and up.
