The year is 2060, New York City and NYPSD Lt. Eve Dallas finds her own life in danger because of a mistake from her past that comes back to haunt her. This book by Robb is about a serial killer, one with motivations and attitudes who enjoys abducting and torturing women. He has returned after nine years,....called "The Groom" by the media, because he marks his victims chest with the minutes it took them to die. Years ago he killed 4 women in 15 days, a killing spree that gripped the city. When the body of a young woman is discovered marked by brutal torture, Eve knows "The Groom" is back, and this time he is after her. The book is told from the killer's point of view this time, so some J.D. Robb fans may be disappointed by that, but as usual her "death" books are extremely gripping and vivid!
J. D. Robb (Nora Roberts) always delivers with her stories about Eve Dallas! I look forward to each one that comes out! She gives life to these characters, that it's so hard to wait for her books to come out whether I listen to or read the next one. If you have never picked up one of her stories, then by all means do. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised. Start from the beginning, if you can, and work your way through. I believe that you will fall in love with her characters as I have! Creation in Death will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will be cheering at the end!
This was my first JD Robb book; thus the first one I have read in this series. The plot was interesting and the book was well written and held my attention until... What I don't understand is why it is set in the future (2060) when the future wasn't really utilized in the plot. I was well into the book, probably 1/2 of the way, when I realize it was set into the future. Maybe it is just me, but I found that fact distracting and it made the book less intersting from that point forward.
This is yet another amazing tale by JD Robb. Once you start this book, you cannot put it down. It tantilizes you with a murderous plot, and then twists to where Eve is now a person on the murderers "to do" list.
Overall, I would recommed this book as it is one of the best yet.
