This book is exquisitely detailed. Shows sculpting techniques that are perfect for beginners as well as advanced sculptors. I highly recommend this book.
Pictures are excellent quality, instructions are easy to follow.

This book is essential to any clay artist, amateur or professinal, that wants to create lifelike figures in clay. The step-by-step instructions have precise pictures that takes the artist through the process with a minimum of "fuss". There is a detailed list of tools, some bought and some made, that are needed to complete the project. Katherine Dewey shows us that with just a little knowledge and practice, we can create wonderful art pieces. I love this book!

Much valuable information in this book. Well worth the price. New and seasoned sculpters/artists can benefit from reading and looking at this book. It's a pleasure to own it.

I bought this book because I had heard that Katherine Dewey was a magnificent sculptor in polymer clay..she doesn't disappoint!! I am just a beginner, & this book shows all aspects of beginning clay work. The book starts by showing how you can make some of your own tools with supplies from around the house & clay & moves through every aspect of the body starting with the head & working the whole way down to the feet. It even shows how to make an armature of a hand. It doesn't end there. She also gives tips throughout the book on baking your clay, how to bake your sculpts, supporting your sculpt in the oven, etc. There is even a few pages on how to make your own eyes! It was a definite addition I couldn't do without!! I also like her book on animals..so if you have the opportunity & would like to also sculpt animals, it is also available. Enjoy!!

I really liked this book because I had been struggling with how to work with polymer clay and this book answered a lot of questions I had about how to work it. It gave very clear step by step directions on how to make the human figure which would have taken me forever to have figured it all out on my own. I can't say that there is anything that I didn't like about this book.

This is a wonderful book!!!!!! If you are a beginner or an experienced artist you will find this book useful. There are lots of pictures and easy to follow instructions on how to create lifelike figures. You will not be disappointed with this terrific book.I LOVE IT!!!!!! I plan to search out more books by Katherine Dewey.

I first saw this book advertised by a bookseller. I have a collection of polymer clay books, but haven't been able to get the realistic faces right. They all look like munchkins. Not that there's anything wrong with that! I loved this book. It made me think I might be able to do it. I am working on my first face now.....so we will see. If we only learn one thing from each book, it's worth it.

This is one of the best books by a top artist. It is easy to follow with all the tips and info you need to do a good job. I love to sculpt but using polymer is different and I had no experience with doing figures. I mostly do horses / unicorns. So this book is the best in my opinion. You will be pleased for sure!

This is a fantastic book, the pictures along with the instructions are very clear and cover everything step by step. I feel that this is the only book I'll ever need to create life-like people with polymer clay.
