This is a great book about the indescribable love of God and is an encouragement to all of us not to be fence-sitters. Do we really love God or are we pretty luke-warm.

Francis writes in a way that really challenges your motivation, and authenticity of your faith, while tying in great examples of grace.

It is a great book. I love it. It is by an awesome author. It had very fast shipping, and came in great condition.

It is one thing for Jesus to condemn a church for being lukewarm, but the author extends this precept to suggest that all of us that fall short of Jesus' example are in forfeit of their salvation. God has utilized imperfect men from the beginning of time as his agents to implement His will. Even Abraham sinned, but nevertheless was proclaimed righteous.

The author makes a couple of statements indicating that our salvation is not at risk, but the reading of the text shows that this is exactly his assertion.

I consider this offering to be an attempt to link works to salvation and as such it is doctrinally impure.

This book helps you think more deeply about your commitment to Jesus. It stresses relationship and growth, in short, how to bear fruit--just by loving God and keeping in his word. Presented in a fresh way--doesn't hit you over the head. Guilt reliever, stress reducer, keep on track encouragement. Some introspective work is necessary for best results! I bought this for a group bible study--and found it to offer a lot for the seasoned and new Christian.

This book gave me one of the best understanding of a healthly fear of GOD through his great love. It contstantly reminds me as I read that Jesus loves me no matter how insignifant I am seem.

Really like this book, Chan makes you think and makes you uncomfortable if you are living a complacent life.

Loving this book, it is exactly the kick in the pants message I needed. I love the insight and it has been a great perspective to gain!

I really enjoyed the perspective the author gave in thes book. It made you think a little bit deeper. He is a very understandable writer. If you are looking for a whole nother level of your faith and belief read this book.

The book starts out o.k., talking about the awesomeness of God and evaluating your life. Then chapter four lists a "profile of the lukewarm," basically these descriptions include anyone who is not actively serving God or on-fire for God, whatever that means. These standards are all contrived artificially. Chapter five then judges them all and sends them to hell (it looks like most of Christianity is in this category if one goes by the descriptions in the book). To quote the book (pp. 83-84): "As I see it, a lukewarm Christian is an oxymoron; there's no such thing. To put it plainly, churchgoers who are 'lukewarm' are not Christians. We will not see them in heaven."

i love francis chan and i heard this book was amazing!i heard him speak at several youth conferences and he has a gift of speaking God's word. and he has a way of grasping your attention with his hilarious stories. i bought this book because i want to experience this "crazy love" that Jesus has for me!

Just a solid book, written with a fresh, modern perspective. As a Westmont College alumnus, I used to look forward to Francis Chan coming to speak. He would speak about once per semester, and we all loved him. He's a great communicator with a genuine love for God. I would definitely recommend watching the corresponding short videos for the intro and for each chapter. Enjoy! --Joey

frances chan is a great speaker, a teacher and i can not tell you how much
you will be changed by listening to him speak for a few minutes.
his physical and emotional relationship with god is infectious!
he is a very well educated in the doctrine and but very seriously, THINKING ON HIS OWN!!! an inspiration and a new breath of air.
you will never be the same after you listen or read this book.
the power he projects can only be from GOD.

Enjoy this lovely factual account tht will bring you closer to the Lord. You will want to read and re-read this book multiple times. At times I cried, I was touched by the factual accounts towards the end of the book. This book is written by a Pastor. He basically calls us out! Tells us not to be lukewarm in regards to Jesus. its an uplifting book that will make you want to be a better person and not a "fake" christian.
