The Crazies (DVD, 2003)

If you liked any of the Living Dead movies by Director George Romero,I strongly recommend "The Crazies". Here you have a movie that fits in somewhere in between Night of the living Dead & Dawn of the Dead. Nice to see a color film by Romero too!(Night of the livind dead was B&W) In this film the threat is not zombies but a real chemical developed by the Military,that either kills you or turns you insane! The towns people that are infected turn against the military in a showdown,while a small band of people try to escape the barrior set up around the city.
Paranoia simular to Night of the living dead & the real treats are alot of the actors are from Night of the living dead movie.Stunning cult film actress
Lynn Lowry is also featured! Any films released by Blue Underground are well done,I own several & they are all Awesome! DON'T HESITATE,CHECK IT OUT!

The Crazies is a diamond in the ruff. And almost forgotten like some of George A. Romero's other low budget films. This movie proves that you can make a very entertaining an believable movie out of barely any money and an unrealistic story that becomes completely real through what you see on screen. This movie isn't as good as Dawn of the Dead in my opinion but would have to be the closest thing you can get to it with guns and shooting scenes looking very similar. With non stop scenes being a war between crazies and soldiers. Everyone is considered crazy meaning they've been effected with a virus that makes a person simply go insane and start to attack and try to kill anything in sight. Crazies also can use guns and one small town is a constant warzone with the only hope being dropping a nuclear bomb or the small chance of some people being immune. The only thing I don't like is that I wish it was longer.

when i bought this dvd i thought it was like dawn of the dead but found it was a slow pace'd story no real gore to speak of as a romero fan i was let down big time skip it get 28 weeks later or waite for the remake. coming 2009
