A Welcome Heavy Edge to Contemporary Christian Music

Falling Up's Crashings is a daring infusion of heavier metal into the often trite and low-key Contemporary Christian Music genre. "Escalates", the fourth track on the CD, is the syncopated vivacious groove that rocketed Falling Up into the Christian Music spotlight.

The tunes on Crashings are lively well-meshed intonations of heavy guitar, piano, drums and vocals. The Christian Message, however, seems to be an undertone and rarely overtly stated in the enigmatic lyrics. The liner notes offset this, however, as each band member states his dedication to God in thankful remarks.

I welcome this addition of more rough & tumble rock and roll to the Christian Music scene. I recommend Falling Up's Crashings to anyone seeking a stronger dose of metal in their Christian Vibe collection.

A friend of mine sent me a few songs from them and I liked it so I went to get the CD. Which was a great idea because I love most of the songs on the disk.

Great christian music that most listeners won't even notice that it's religous. Play it all the time in the morning to get me on the right track.

  Nothing new, but still good.

Falling up brings nothing new to the table, but then most bands don't. All the tracks are virtually identical....I can hardly tell one from another. But that is all OK because the hooks are catchy and the music is fairly fast tempo. With a few exceptions the lyrics are not overtly Christian. This band knows how to market themselves both in and out of the Christian genre and should continue to sell albums.

  Breath Taking CD
Review created: 04/07/06

The first album from Falling Up, they set the bar for other bands. This CD is awesome and it is all straight to God. This band loves God and you can tell by the lyrics that will keep playing over and over again in your head!
