Crash Team Racing (PlayStation, 1999)

The folks at Naughty Dog have done it again, with yet another fun and FUNNY Playstation game starring Crash Bandicoot and friends (and of course enemies). Crash Team Racing (CTR) brings you the thrill of high-speed cartoon racing with a wide variety of comical race tracks, ranging from pretty easy to challenging to VERY challenging. Keep your controller set to vibrate because you don't want to miss feeling one obstacle or bump in the road!

Race all over the world in different environments, including a beach, desert, snow and ice, a sewer, a mad scientist's laboratory, and a haunted castle. Travel underground in a coal mine, race on a track set high in the clouds, and even venture into outer space! Collect wumpa fruit to "juice up" along with various weapons and power-ups to defeat the competition. You won't know what weapon or power-up each crate holds until you hit it, and you can only hold onto one item until you choose to use it. As you progress and master each track you can go back to try to beat your best time and collect relics and coins. You will be rewarded with a few bonuses along the way!

I kept forgetting that this was a PS1 game because I play it on a PS2 - the graphics are just that good. I love the fact that you can play as any Crash character and that you don't always have to be the good guy. Try being in someone else's shoes as you experiment playing as different characters. Each character has their own kart, with different maneuvering abilities and speed.

There are enough tracks, challenges, and race modes to keep you entertained for hours. I thought it was fun to play alone until I played it with my 2 nephews, ages 6 & 9. Multi-player racing was even more fun and challenging. While this is an "old school" game a new generation was able to thoroughly enjoy it.

Truly a classic...you can't go wrong with any Crash Bandicoot game!

I love this game it remind me of mario kart as it has similar features. I like the challenging the bosses to race. I wanted to get this game to see crash in a non adventure. This game is great for all video gamers.

If you're a fan of go kart games (namely Mario Kart) and always wanted a version for the PSOne, then this is the game. It's extremely fun...i bought the game and i was hooked for a week of none stop playing (i stopped because i moved and had to unhook everything, but when i get the chance i'll get back to it). It's got everything: It's Challenging (it'll keep racing fans busy), it's wide (it's loaded with secrets, so it'll keep the curious busy) and the multiplayer gaming is excelent (it'll keep everyone busy). The gameplay is not hard, so anyone can jump in and within minutes will get the hang of if. So if you're still holding on to your PSOne, this is a must. If you've moved on to the PS2 or PS3, then get the sequel. Good Luck!!!

Got it in good time, however, it skips in some places. I did clean it, and it still seems to lock up at times. Overall, as long as I save, it works.

i decided to purchase this game becouse i had this game years ago when it first came out and i enjoyed it so much that when i saw it on ebay i had to purchase it is a famliy fun game that never gets old if u like simple fun games thats u dont have to bust your brain on then this is surely something u will enjoy

I would confess that this game is my most-loved game ever.

I'm not much of a gamer but when it comes to Crash Bandicoot, nothing beats CTR.

It encapsulates the beauty of simplicity, and at the same time dignifies the basics of a racing game.

I never owned a gaming system of my own as a child but now that I have it, I made it a point to actually buy CTR. In all honestly, it's my favorite game. Make it yours!

a great game that will not be forgotten about at all. Great game play and action. This game will keep you on your toes. the only thing i don't like about this game(and all other racing games)is the fact that if you play the game constantly, Your thumb get's really sore, for up to 2 and a hafe hours.

I brought this game because I had the demo a while back anyway from what I played it exactly like mario kart but even better so if you like mario kart and have a playstation 1 2 or 3 I recommend you buy this game.

Looking for a great kart racing game for PSX? Then check out Crash Team Racing. Sony has used their Crash Bandicoot character to make their own version of Mario Kart. Since there are many kart racing games available for a PSX, (Looney Tunes, South Park, Smurfs, among others) I was torn on which one to purchase.

After much research I've found that CTR was the best option. It has the best combination of graphics, sound, and game play. As compared with other games, the characters' individual sound effects don't start to annoy you after two minutes of play. The tracks are well laid out, and entertaining. Play is great when in four player mode (like any other racing game). The adventure mode can keep you busy when you are playing by yourself.

Overall the game took the best elements of Mario Kart and put it in a Crash Bandicoot format with a few more features for good measure.

i liked the price that it was listed at as well as the listed description i bought it because i found it to be one of the best games for the Playstation ever and i had it before but i then since can't find it. and it works well if you have a group of people over because of the multi player options are great.

I love this game, its a great "ol school" game and it's good for everyone who loves driving games but can't really drive by controller because although it's racing it's also an adventure game. I brought it because I played it years ago with my niece and nephew.

When i was little my dad bought me this game for playstation i loved it a few years later i moved and some where between boston and hamburg ny it got lost i just recently bought it on ebay it arrived in perfect condition and i feel like i never lost this game it brings back so many memories

I'm one for games that make me feel nostalgic. When I was younger, my dad bought a Playstation and Crash Team Racing to go with it. The gameplay is great for a racing game, the graphic rendering is perfect for a cartoony game and for what the Playstation 1 was capable of at the time and it has the similar features of what Mario Kart Racing has, but with more control of the characters. Adventure modes, battles with others and timed racing are always fun. Complete with items to knock the other players off course. One feature of the game that I enjoyed is the "ghost" feature. Timed racing for one person, saving the ghost. And then racing against yourself to beat your own time. It's an enjoyable game to have and I recommend it for those who like fun racing games.
