Palmer's book is a must read for any beginning teacher. He addresses the fears that we experience in teaching but are afraid to voice. He also addresses the "self" that we bring to teaching. We teach who we are, and students are going to leave the classroom with a little bit of their teacher in them. For this reason, teachers need to be aware of who they are. Palmer helps his readers take a closer look at who they are.

This book is a good book full of insights and wisdom. Originally I had to buy it for class,but after I started reading it it became less like a school assignment and more like reading for pleasure.
