During their 1980-'83 heyday, Glasgow's Altered Images were viewed by some as some kind of bizarre anomaly. But in the years since, their combination of faux-naif lyrics, chirpy pop tunes and Claire Grogan's unique baby-talk voice has proven immensely influential to an entire generation of indiepoppers. This collection contains all the singles from their Siouxsie-like debut "Dead Pop Stars" to 1983's brilliant "Don't Talk To Me About Love"--possibly the band's finest four minutes. Also featuring, for the first time on CD, the far superior 7" single mixes of "Happy Birthday," "See Those Eyes" and "I Could Be Happy," I COULD BE HAPPY is essential not only for Altered Images fans but for anyone interested in this most singular of early-'80s UK exports.
