COSTUME JEWELRY - A PRACTICAL HANDBOOK AND VALUE GUIDE, BY FED REZAZADEH

This was an excellent book for a Seller like me. I had a lot of Fashion Jewelry, both marked and unmarked, but I had no idea what I actually had. I learned, with the help of this book, that some of the marked pieces were quite valuable and even though I was unable to ID all the unmarked pieces, I was given a good idea of the manufacturer or designer, based on other pieces shown in the book.

I found the book helpful to me as a Seller in so many ways. It's chocked FULL of useful information for anyone. It covers everything from cleaning your jewelry, factors affecting market prices, comparative values of marked designer pieces, fashion jewelry as an investment, different design periods and the styles representative of it, comprehensive information on the companies (excellent aid in listing items), information as well on marked and unmarked pieces, different types of foreign jewelry, and a chapter (with clear photos) of manufacturer's trademarks, as shown on an item. The index includes both Common and Designer names, as well as information on various stones and other materials used in jewelry making.

This is one of my first handfuls of jewelry ID books. It will serve me well in being able to accurately ID my stock, and to pass that information, as much of it as I can, on to the Buyer or Bidder. That's my responsibility to you as a Seller. And that's why I initially bought this book. Now, it, of course, led to another book, and another, and another, etc.

I was able to ID MANY of my unmarked pieces - I can now call them Book Pieces and quote this book as a reference. It can only help me be a better, more informed Seller, and the Buyer will be more informed and satisfied as a result.

This book will NEVER be too old to read.... either a beginning collector or seasoned collector will find lots of information to digest. It reads like a novel. So full of information about cataloging, moving up to more valuable pieces, or selling on line. This edition also has many collectors Christmas Tree pins. Can't wait to buy book 202.
