Cop Land (DVD, 1998)

... for those that do or don't like Stallone movies!

This one didn't have as much action,
but I liked it as the storyline was thoughtful
and entertaining.

The additional actors were cast well, and there
were no cliches in this movie, as it was directed
very well.

Probably not one for your Stallone Film Library,
but definitely worth viewing at least once !

This is a movie with star-power that never seems to get the acclaim it deserves. The lead, Sylvester Stallone, plays a New Jersey sheriff where many members of the NYPD live. Suffering from a bit of an inferiority complex, Stallone's character has never really been "good enough" to be part of the NYPD. When he discovers and starts to uncover an enormous trail of crime and cover-ups involving the cops living in his community, he starts to prove his detective abilities, much to the surprise of those around him. It's a story of good vs. evil and too much power gone bad.

Stallone is not one of my favorite actors by any stretch, but ironically he, too, proves something in this movie. He is a much better actor than I've ever given him credit for.

A good movie for those who like mystery, action, suspense.

I enjoy watching movies of all kinds and it can get a bit hard to find some of the really good older movies. I guess that's where quality E bay sellers come in handy. Pop it the title and generally you can find the one your looking for at a very reasonable price. This is a ten year old movie w/many big name actors, has a great plot, and lot of twist and turns. Must watch close.
