Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch (1996, Hardcover)

I read this book years ago and this is maybe the tenth copy I have purchased. It made sense to me as do many ideas of many different religions. I give it to people who want to kmow more and I keep a copy for myself. It has inspired me to look for the message of love in every religon. And whether it is true, or sheer nonsense, it has inspired me and many people I know to be better people. I highly recomend this book.

Hmmm...what did I like?...Well...nothing, so far. This in my opinion is something a young Christian should be careful about reading. Mr. Walsch pretty much says...if your "feelings" differ from the Bible...go with your feelings. (Pg. 8) Well we as mature Christians know that our "feelings" are the very thing that can be manipulated (as Eve can attest to in the garden of Eden)...and it is the Bible that we need to lean on for our guidances...because left to our own thoughts/actions...history will show we don't handle it well...The living word...he would have us believe we can either take it or leave it...but it is the very thing that God has given us to line everything up against...to be fully armed against the deceiver...I have not read much further...because it is not sitting well with my spirit...I have read tid bits further...and see he doesn't believe in hell as described in the word...sees sin entirely different...that we should embrace our highest self..(Am I actually thinking he means as God's?)...You know it seems like to me...that this is the same line of deception that the serpant was trying to feed Eve...and unfortunately she bit....to the detriment of man kind...If you decide to read this...I would definitely tell you to pray for discernment first...lest you be deceived too. the book we have been waiting for since the dawn of time. all the questions you had in mind, the questions you have to formulate, the questions never been answered, are answered and explained in a light manner that everyone can easily understand. after reading this, everything seems to fall perfectly in place, like the whole existence is perfectly choreographed. enlightens you to all things and makes sure everyone will see the world is nothing but perfection

I think this guy is just out to make alot of money or else he is crazy.

He claims that all of us are God, that we just don't know it. (sounds like the lie that Satan told Eve in the garden of Eden). Then he says there is no God. He claims there is no devil. He claims the Bible is not God's word and that all we have to do is listen to your feelings. He claims God will not judge us and will not punish the wicked. (I don't know about you, but I hope the mass murders that have killed people and never repented, are punished).

I give this a very poor rating and would advise you not to waste your money on it.

I bought this book because a friend had lent me acopy and it was so very interesting. For me, It's a book you need to re-read at least once. I loved it because it gave a plausible explanation to God without the guilt trip that accompanies religions. I felt that at last this was something that was believable.
Now I have read several of the Conversations With God (CWG) series and find them so intriguing. My teen age grandson also has started reading them and has expressed the same type of interest. My favorite was "Home With God", however I'm not sure it would have been quite as understandable if I had not read the CWG 1,2&3.
I consider this book a "must read" no matter what , or your lack therof, religion.

If you are ready with an open mind and open heart to have your life changed.. READ this Book. I have the collection and the movie and enjoy them many times a year. My 13 year old daughter loves them as well. Not for the closed mind.. but a treasure for those willing to accept possibilities and thoughts outside the standard norm.

This book speaks to the listening inside that knows truth inherently. It will be challenging for those who are attached to old religous structures. The priciples in the book are a guide for freeing your soul.

I've bought more than one copy on eBay, very inexpensively. I've shared my experience with as many others as will listen and shared the book with anyone inclined to read it. The book is a record of a series of "conversations" between God and Neale Walsch. The effect is greatest when read aloud. If you're ready, it is much like a bright light going on in a dark room. For me it was a profound life-changing opportunity that has led to much more inquiry and discovery in spirituality. It's a pathfinder book that may awaken or re-awaken the true relationship we have with God for you as it did for me. Whether you read more of Walsch's books thereafter is not nearly as important as reading this one. It is said that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. This book is that teacher. For anyone seeking a pure relationship with God, it's here for you. You can usually pick up copies on eBay for well under $5.00. Small price to pay for finding yourself in the process.

What I really enjoyed about the book is it touched Home for me in many areas,
I was able to relate to it and found my truth in it, I have struggled with all
types of religions and this book showed me the light!..There is truly nothing I dislike about the book, I buy them for my friends all the time!!..I found this book on a friends shelf at the right time in my life...it has a very positive effect on me:)..its fun, loving and just great:) cant say enough, my favorite book!

I first watched the movie on DVD, which prompted me to buy this book! A must read for sure!

I have already read Conversations With God Books 1, 2 & 3. I continue buying book 1 for my friends. It is the most helpful self-help book I have ever read and has given me tools to look at life from a new perspective. It empowers by teaching how to CREATE things/events rather than letting life "happen to you". It reminds us that everything happens for a reason, offering continuous opportunity for growth and for re-creating who you are and who you choose to be. It gives hope, answers to questions about life, people, and events never before answered satisfactorily, opens the door to spirituality, and provides tools to accept yourself for who you are right now and knowledge of how to change what you wish to change. Things like "it is not in the actions of others but in your re-action that your salvation will be found," "live without judgment: pain results from a judgment you have made about a thing; remove the judgment and the pain disappears," "perspective creates thoughts, thoughts create everything; the way to control your thoughts is to change your perspective", and the constant reminder that we all ALL CONNECTED, are, for me, life changing statements of truth that I had never heard before. This book is a condensed version of about 20+ years of the author's pursuit of answers to life's questions. It is equivalent to reading MANY books in one. You need not be religious or a believer of God or to believe that the author spoke with God to significantly benefit from this book. I have never read any book that has had more impact on me in my 40 years of life. It has opened my eyes and has allowed me to be grateful and appreciative of life for the very first time. My relationships with people have improved because I look at people differently and respond to people differently. Everyone to whom I have recommended the book has loved it. I will continue to re-read the book so I will never forget the messages that lay within. If you are looking for answers or tools or know that something in your life is missing, then it may be perfect (Divine?)timing for you to read this book. Read it with an open mind and with no expectations. I cannot imagine anyone not benefitting from the messages within. Good luck!

Finally...something that makes sense!!! I will be upfront in saying that this book will immediately turn many off, but if a person is open to it and really listens to what it says to your heart you will realize how much sense it makes.
I was forever searching for answers and one day watched the movie. After watching the movie i HAD to read the book now i'm getting ready to start book 2.
Start this book with an open mind and let it speak to YOU and you wont be disappointed. For those who will say that this guy is crazy, a liar, out to make a buck or whatever...it's okay....remember that no one comes to the Truth until they area ready.

If you want to broaden your spiritual minds these are the books to read. You must be open to new ideas,thoughts and feelings of what the next life can really be like. These books really spoke to me..

This book has changed the way I look at the world. It helped me to not get so upset at the world around me, and made me feel instantly enlightened. I am on book 2 now and can't wait to start book 3. You really have to keep reading even when what you have been taught your whole life gets challeged. If you keep reading, you will get more answers. I can see how a lot of people will stop reading this book after just 10 pages or so. It is a real eye opener! I wish I could have everyone I know read it!

I bought it for a spiritual club I was in. I absolutely hated the book! I think Neale Donald Walsch is a big fraud. I would not recommend this book to anyone, as I feel it could lead them astray. It is another sad example of a false prophet taking money from innocent people searching for spiritual guidance. I am giving it a below average instaed of poor because sadly, others in my group were taken in by it, so he is a good writer, but the content was very disturbing.

He acts like there are none of us who hear God. People have been hearing from God for a long time. I don't agree with him about a lot of things. Like there is no hell or Devil. Even Jesus believed that. I can't just read it straight through because of the odd beliefs he states are from God. This is the start of a new religion, be careful if you don't know the bible you might just get drawn into it. I have more thoughts but you'd have to e-mail me to get them.

Personally: im into things in life that have deep meaning, & has a spiritual connection to it, years ago, I read a couple of my friends books , I thought some day im going to buy the book, of not the entire collection, I found it on Ebay for VERY resonable price, so I went ahead & clicked on that good ole "BUY IT NOW" button :), I have found some very good must have's on ebay,as well. So far, I couldnt be more pleased!with the intire EBAY experience, & I would HIGHLY recommend it to any one that has not given it a try, ...Allen Glasser!

I like the price of the book although it isn't brand new thats alright too, the best books are read over and over again. I have been wanting to read this book and thank you for selling it to me!

This book distorts the Bible's teachings in a number of areas. Since when does God tell people that sin is okay? Since where does God tell people to celebrate being a homosexual? This book is full of lies and distorts God's word.
The author purports to answer various questions asked by kids using the
"voice of God". However, the "answers" that he gives are not Bible-based and
go against the very infallible word of God. For instance (and I paraphrase),
when a girl asks the question "Wh y am I a lesbian?" His answer is that she
was 'born that way' because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed,
with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and "celebrate" her
differences

Another girls poses the question "I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?"

His reply is, "Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong."

Another question asks about God's forgiveness of sin. His reply "I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is "'judge not lest ye be judged."

Not only are these books the false doctrine of the devil, but in some instances quote (in error) the Word of God.

I love the book and it was in excellent condition. It was delivered quickly and in a timely mannor. Glad to have it back in my collection. It was even given with a book mark with a very clever advertising logo in such case you ever wanted to purchase another book. I recommend highly.
