Contra: Shattered Soldier (PlayStation 2, 2002)

This game rocks! It's the Contra you remember from back in the day but with sicker graphics and action. Classic 2D Contra gameplay in a 3D environment. And it's super hard...it'll put you to the test!

Contra: Shattered Soldier (Playstation 2) has fabulous graphics, challenging levels and has a lot of action. I played this game with my friends. I like it a lot and wanted a copy of the game to own.

Oh yeah Contra Shattered Soldier is back and with a vengance! this is by far my favorite Contra. Why you ask? cause it brings the mix of old school and new and makes for a very fun game. for all those contra veterans out there im pretty sure they will be pleased with the great graphics and controls, as well as the intense challenge of beating it. than you got your rookies who will enjoy killing everything in sight. Only problem with this though is that if your playing by yourself even if your a veteran it is really really hard. and to top it off there is no saving. yeah you get that at the end of the game if you ever make it there. But i dont care and all those Contra fans wont either that just means you have to work harder to get there. Highly recommend this game if your a contra fan if not and dont like working hard go play your i love kitty island adventure games than.

Contra: Shattered Soldier is hard. Incredibly hard.

This might be the hardest Contra game ever, and that is saying something. It's exactly what you expect from a Contra game. Side-scrolling, shooting action with the option of a second player. This is a good example of a game series undergoing a transfer to 3D successfully. It retains the same feel of the old games while still bringing something new and interesting to the table.

But again, this game is HARD. Very, very hard. Yes, the classic Konami Code works, but I am moderately certain it only works on the main menu and therefore only once per playthrough of the game. This is usually enough to get through one level, but not all of them.

Admittedly, since you can play the levels in any order, this isn't a problem. But you'd have to restart every time and your score would never be saved.

It's a fun adrenaline rush that I highly recommend to any serious gamer. If you're not up to the challenge, however, find another title.

This game stinks! not as good as nintendo don't waste your money the effects stunk...Everything about this game stinks

Nice graphics and gameplay. The bosses are a pain in the butt but if you want an easy game, play Pac-Man.

Takes me back to the good old days of side scrolling. i like this game but it is not as good as contra hard corps.s it still a great game just needed the charater selection and the unique weapons

The only bad thing is how short this game is, but the difficulty will still keep you at it for a long time, its a great co op game but really not meant to be played by yourself. Ive played it for about 3 hours and have beaten probally half of the game so far. Graphics are great, weapons are different the the usual set up. You always have the same 3 weapons, each can be charged up to fire a unique kind of shot for different situations. Controls feel really good on it. For 10-15$ this game is a must have for any two gamers bored with what they have and want a new challenge for a while.

This and "Contra III: Alien Wars" for SNES are the two greatest Contra games to ever be released. It has great 3D backgrounds, rock soundtrack and replay value. I hope to see "Shattered Soldier II" to be released maybe for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

i boght it because i love contra 3 on super nintendo, and this is the one contra that palys almost the same, love this game as well, mainly that it is a little bit harder than the older one, or maybe it is just me, dont care the game is great.

If you ever played contra on NES and SNES you have to play this. This game is super hard and have some pretty good graphics. If you cant afford a PS3 or Xbox 360 get some classic hott games like this one. The controls are easy to learn and the co-op mode will have you and a friend on the edge if your seats.

This game is a complete JOY and complete stress reducer in my life. I love the graphics, the storyline, and gameplay in its entirety. This is one of the better side scrolling versions of Contra that goes outside that line once in a while(into 3D and multi-directional action), and every screenshot is amazing in action and detail. For what I paid for owning this game, I got every dollars worth and more. When I received the game after purchasing it, it was as if I bought a NEW game. This played perfect and I got more than my moneys worth. I am a happy EBayer and love this game! Very cool purchase.
