Fine for the beginner hobbyist

I wanted this book because the cover illustration seemed to promise some interesting brooch patterns. But in fact, the patterns don't deliver the quality of production that I hoped for, i.e., glue-on brooch pins are demonstrated, rather than making a simple wire pin that ties into the piece, etc. The black and white photos are often a little too dark to see easily. For the beginning hobbyist, I do think this book has some merit. For intermediate and above, a good look at the cover will probably serve you just as well. If the photos were lightened and the projects a bit more varied and updated, then I could recommend the book to a larger readership.

This book is a great instructional book for beginner wire wrapping crafters or those inspiring to be. It is also a good project guide for intermediate wrappers looking for different design styles.
It is a fairly complete guide with an ample description of tools and materials necessary to wire wrap cabochons, free form cabochons, drilled and undrilled stones or pearls. It also contains chapters on basic wire wrapping techniques and tips.
The book also includes eleven different wire-wrapping projects for pins, pendants, earrings and rings. The projects all have pictures, diagrams and easy to follow detailed instructions. There are chapters and instruction on making “Spool Loom Chains”, Solderless Chain Links and “Designing from Scratch”.
The book is 140 plus pages page with useful wire-wrapping information and instructions. I personally found it to be a bargain at the suggested retail price. If you can find it on ebay for less, it is a steal.
