Contemporary Moral Issues - Third Edition
I purchased this textbook because it was required for an ethics course I was taking at a local college.
This book consists of a series of narrative readings on various contemporary issues that cause strong ethical debates, such as: abortion, euthanasia, cloning, hunger, poverty, gay rights, etc. The readings are by well-known experts in their field, such as sociologists, economists, ethicists, etc., and they present various sides of each controversial issue. The reading level is very accessible and suitable for even a high school student. Each article is followed by some discussion questions to encourage healthy debate on the issue.
This book could be used in a college ethics course or even for an adult study group in a progressive church denomination that might like to explore various viewpoints on today's pressing moral issues.
