Conifers by D.M. Van Gelderen (1989, Hardcover, Subsequent Edition)

Nothing is more breathtaking than a new snow on a conifer garden. The bright white accentuates the various shades, hues and tones of different green like nothing else. Conifer gardens allow for all shapes and sizes and never has to be raked.

The color photos in the landscape provide a clear example of what to expect from the plants described. This is a color sample book, with a short introduction for each of the taxa of conifers. 6 families of Coniferae are discused. The only draw back stems from lack of hardiness zones. Further research will be needed to determine if specific plants will thrive in your climate zone.

This is an excellent text for those wanting to learn the wide range of variation available in a select group of evergreens.
