Publisher's Note
In the United States alone, over ten million people--many of them women and young adults--are known to suffer from the heart condition known as Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome (MVPS). Countless others with chest pains, fatigue, dizziness, depression, migraines, or anxiety attacks are totally unaware that symptoms may be MVPS related or even that MVPS is treatable.

This book absolutely, without a doubt, changed my life.

Summer of 2005 I thought I was going to die. Literally. I was having shortness of breath, chest pains, couldn't sleep because the chest pains woke me up constantly. Complete heart attach symptoms. I was scared. I rarely go to the doctor, but I finally went. Eventually I ended up at a cardiologists office and was told that I had Mitral Valve Prolapse. Like many people, I had heard of it but knew absolutely nothing about it. My doctor recommended this book.

In reading it, I learned why my syptoms were so bad when many people have this condition and never even know it (in other words, they have no symptoms.) I also learned how I could lessen the likelyhood of symptoms. And this is where my life changed.

By completely elimanating caffiene (yes, you CAN do it - it just takes time) and greatly controlling my sugar intake (I limit myself to natural sugars and no more than 13grams if I have a treat) I got my life back. After months and months of heart attack symptoms, I feel normal and healthy again.

And I know I'm healthier now too. Since cutting out caffiene and most sugar, I rarely experience the painful symptoms of Mitral Valve and I also lost over 35 pounds! I just had my cholesterol checked and all of my numbers were not just good - they were GREAT! I don't just feel healthier, I AM healthier.
And all because of the information in this book.

But that is not all of the information that you will find here. There is plenty of info about diet. But did you know that some exercises can cause the MVP symptoms to flare up? There is also info in the book about the medications available for MVP. Lots of helpful advise, written by a woman who for years worked with MVP patients who experience painful MVP symptoms. A must read!
