I bought several books and ended up returning most of them until I found this one. Lowe's and Home Depot's books don't even come close to the comprehensiveness and details of this book.
Electrical - replacing outlets, lights, switches - covered.
Plumbing - basic pipes and faucet work - covered
Weatherproofing - covered
Patching Drywall and painting techniques - covered
HVAC maintenance - covered
This isn't meant for pros but it sure is the best book out there for diys (do it yourselfers) or aspiring diys
I have used this book so many times - it has saved me its cost and 100 times over.
Each task is outlined with material, tools and then step by step (with pictures) guides. You can't go wrong!!!!

This is an invaluable home repair guide for first-time homeowners and veteran do-it-yourselfers alike. We received the book as a housewarming gift, and it has proven its usefulness on many occasions. It is especially helpful to have the pictures showing the step by step processes, rather than just written instructions alone. We think so highly of it, we have in turn recently given a copy to some friends who are new homeowners.
