How many years have you got in your attic?

As its name implies, THE COMPLETE NEW YORKER contains everything that has been in the New Yorker- every ad, article and cartoon. At least until the publication date of the DVD Rom set. Updates may or may not be available or forthcoming, but who cares? This is the New Yorker from before you were born, most likely. And it takes up a lot less space than a stack of magazines.
As other reviewers point out, the searching is a little odd, but eminently workable. You would be surprised at the ease with which articles can be found, even cartoons by caption.
Two important drawbacks exist:
1) The user licensing agreement hints rather strongly that The New Yorker will monitor your use. This can be solved by running the disks on a computer that is not connected to the internet.
2)This product was developed and published for Windows platforms which are becoming outdated. It may or may not work in your brand-new computer. On the other hand, it might be a great way to squeeze some more usefulness out of your most recent retiree.
As the price drops on this remarkable achievement, you might consider buying two- in case the dog eats one of your disks or something...
