The Complete National Geographic (1997, CD-ROM)

The item I purchased on ebay and only set me back about twenty dollars plus shipping, a very good deal considering what you get.This version is 1888-1997 meaning the entire year of 1996 is the last installment.This version is for windows 95 which surprised me but worked with windows xp and the latest version of Quicktime available, so not a problem. When opening each issue some manipulating of the window size is necessary using the zoom function to show both pages which is not significant.My monitor is a Lcd 22" so the multiple page foldouts fit fairly well without much scrolling.The normal view is two pages side by side fitting onto a 17" would probably work fine.There is much criticism about text quality which while somewhat poor is still very legible.
I visited the National Geographic website which didn't seem to offer this product which would probably be quite a sum of money.If you like reading in depth articles about specific past events or subjects this is a unique product.
