The book say it all need i say more very good instruction.with the complete bokbook on blacksmith it is a very complete book.

Great book for the beginning blacksmith. Weygers covers everything you need to know to start blacksmithing. Instructions are very clear with tons of pictures and diagrams.

I bought this book as a reference for making certain items. The procedures used in the book are good if you understand a little about metals before reading, yet it lacks sufficient depth for someone more experienced. Overall it's an easy read although some of the subject matter is getting out of date. I like the book and it is a good value for anyone interested in blacksmithing and learning about an old art.

This volume is 3 books in 1. I purchased it on the recommendation of several blacksmiths / writers whose books I also own or have read. While a small portion of the material in this volume seems dated (having originally been penned in the 60's), with a little ingenuity and common sense it can be adapted to modern needs. This book abounds with drawings, and contains clear instructions for each project or exercise described. As a blacksmith-in-training (read "wannabe"), I found this book to be quite entertaining and informative. For those who are at all familiar with Johnny Blackwell's "Poor Man's Catalogs", the drawings and projects described in Mr. Weygers' book might seem a bit familiar, as they are similar in style, although Mr. Weygers might be found somewhat lacking in Mr. Blackwell's humorous approach to nearly every situation. I would recommend "The Complete Modern Blacksmith" for any blacksmith's library, whether "it be that of a raw beginner or a seasoned professional. The book also could reasonably be included on the shelf of a survivalist, a backwoodsman living "off the grid", an individual or family who practices (or is interested in) a self-sufficient lifestyle, or your average person who simply hates to waste a perfectly good piece of metal.
