The Complete Metalsmith by Tim McCreight (1991, Paperback)

This is an excellent book to keep within reach at your workbench. I take metalsmithing classes and our instructor has copies for us to use in class. I knew I had to have my own at home. Well written, easy to follow and understand directions, McCreight seems to know what my questions would be and answers them! Bottom line, this book is worth every penny, and than some!

This book touches almost every part of jewelery making. I say almost because I haven't experienced everything. I do know that it has helped me in my work already and I consider myself a beginner. Even if you are quite experienced I think it will help you as one cannot remember everything. There are many things covered in the book that it will take years to do all of them. Don't be afraid buy the book I am certain it will help you in your work.

I got a copy for an artist friend who is also interested in silversmithing. It cover basic gems, most techniques in metallurgy for jewelry and basic metal working. For the price it's a must have for a personal reference book.

I like the way this version is set up. The smaller book of the same title, with the light green cover is very informative, however this older version is the better of the two. It seems to have much more information.

it covers everything you wanted to know about metal but was afraid to ask. and then some. Be careful with your fingers, y'all. You'll need them to type and buy crap off of ebay with. is this 100 characters yet?

The book is in virtually new condition, and arrive in a timely manner. No one could complain about that! It is always a pleasure to write a review for something that good.
