Originally I checked this out of the library, because I had inherited many tools, mostly for gardening from the previous owner of my home and wanted to know the name and use of these items. This book not only gives the name, but tells you how to use it and also gives tips on the the best tool for a particular job. It is also rather humorously written.
I bought the book because I have chronic pain which gives me very limited time for trial and error. I appreciate being able just read the tried and true method or product. Then I use this book to instruct my crew of young teens to carry out the work.
As a homeschooling mom I also see vocational training value in this book. The teens I have hired have never used most of the tools I own. They are grateful for the chance to make money while learning marketable skills. Because of this book I will be able to write impressive letters of recommendation for them.
