This book is primarily geared towards the beginner to low level intermediate player. There is a wealth of info in this single workbook. The drum lessons start off very slow, and quickly increase in difficulty. The book begins with snare drum beats, which are too difficult for an absolute beginner. Having the accompanying CD is helpful, but the tracks are not labeled. You will need to keep a record yourself of progress on the Cd to match the tracks to the text. The CD provides the exact tempo to master each exercise on.
Many famous drumming notables give interviews which provide motivation to the reader to continue working on his/her drumming craft.
Overall, this book is alright, but more helpful drumming books are out there.
