No it's not, I've bought this book like three years ago, and I finished every page and did all the work in it. After I finished it I put it away for a long time. Years later while I'm still learning Japanese I looked though it and I was like man this really was a helpful book. It goes through stuff like "The basics", Survival skills: like numbers, Grammar, getting to know people like greetings, meeting people, talking about yourself, extending invitations, and The essentials for traveling like In the airport, is the flight on time, at the airport, as the hotel, at the bank, and Japanese for fun like let's go shopping, dining out in Japan, touring a Japanese home, spending leisure time, and there's trouble shooting like talking on the phone what number the call when your sick like call 911? No! You call 119! Learn how to say stuff like I lost my wallet in Japanese, and making complaints! This book is written in English and romaji. Romaji is Japanese in English form, BUT don't forget that when reading romaji you have to say the English letters in Japanese letters like
u is pronounced oo, as in English "cool"
e is pronounced eh, as in English "bet"
o is pronounced oh, as in English "bore" You will learn all of this from this book. In the back of the book their is a small English to Japanese and Japanese to English dictionary. In the back of this book their is also a Katakana chart and a hiragana chart which is very useful!
If you would like to learn Japanese on the internet I found a very good site. Go to japanesepod101.com
It's the best site that I've found to learn Japanese using the internet, but make sure you start from the beginning. Thanks for your time
