The Complete Hits Collection 1973-97 [Slipcase] by Billy Joel (CD, May-2006, 4 Discs, Columbia USA)

I bought the set because I had upcoming tickets to the Billy Joel - Elton John Face2Face concert and didn't know a whole lot about Billy Joel. This set, besides the excellent price I got in the auction...was just what I was looking for. It contains 4CDs with 44 cuts. Even at retail price, it's a steal for the quality of the songs and musicianship. The BJ/EJ concert was awesome, but Billy Joel's band stole the show in my estimation, with their musicianship. BJ was funny, and boy can he play and sing...the energy and talent! This collection also contains a 40 page booklet with biography, lyrics and great photography. Recommend this highly to Billy Joel fans and not-so-fans!

You certainly get what it says on the box, but its the unexpected extras that make this special. What is there not to like? The presentation of the whole box set is superb. Three CDs covering all of his hits to 1997. Disc 4 covers the Q&A session and gives a unique insight into how some of his music and lyrics came about, but also demonstrates what a great 'communicator' he is. An added bonus is the integral booklet with all the lyrics. This set is a "must have" for any Billy Joel Fan.

The music is great. The Q&A session he has is very informative. He tells what got him into his music and who influenced his. He also reveals how his songs came about.

This is a wonderful collection of Billy Joel's Hits. The 4 cd's come in a very sturdy case, and the words to the songs are in the middle of the case...like a little book..so you can sing with your favorite tunes.

This is an ultimate collection for a Billy Joel fan!! A must for a music collection and a great buy!!! Super collection all in one set. Should have purchased it sooner.

Much better than I expected. Love every song. Has every great song he ever did, that I am aware of. It even has a little history on it, which I found intriging. I fell in love with Billy Joel's music all over again. CD was in excellent shape as well, everything originally intact.

it is a great cd and has billy's best songs from all his decades. including special interviews and questions asked by listeners and supporters. It has the piano man, we didnt start the fire, and other favorites that many will love.

The first three disks include all the songs you would expect to see from Billy's collection including some live performances. I have noticed a change in his energy level when he is live. Disk four is something else. You are given a rare look at the inter working of Billy's head. I finely found out what the heck a Real Estate Novelist is. If some of your early Billy Joel CD's are starting to show age, as mine are, this is a good investment.

A must have for every Billy Joel fan! If you don't have any of his CDs yet, this is the perfect way to jump start your collection because it includes just about every Billy Joel song that ever hit the charts.
