My First encounter with Chi-Gung
I learned early on that Chi-Gung isn't about reading books, but you have to start somewhere. Chi-Gung is about doing. Reid gives a thorough history of the subject, and its ties with Taoist Philosophy. Whether you come from the Meditative, Martial or Medical schools of thought, this book has something for everyone. Breathing techniques are discussed in detail. Energy harvesting, cultivation and storage are covered in superb detail also. Reid compares PNI of Western Medicine with healing properties of Chi-Gung. His descriptive illustrations and thorough step by step explanations should make the "slow, soft, and silent" moves of Chi-Gung understandable to all practioners.
