This book is a plethora of information about one of my favorite group of flowers: bulbs, corms, tubers, and rhizomes. Swindell's books is loaded with very useful information about each type of flower, their strengths and their weaknesses as far a growth habits, hardiness, availability, etc.
The descriptions of each type of bulb is amazing and makes one want to get a jump on any growing season. The color photographs are most helpful and beautiful because Swindell tells us know what variety is pictured and a good description of all of the companion plants in that particular photograph.
The flowers arranged in the flower beds are beautiful and do not appear difficult to emulate at all: IF one has the correct planting zone.
I find this book a treasure of useful information, well-organized and to the point.
A great buy and a great tool for the average and advanced gardener.
