  Me Complain???

What started off as a joke from my better half, has proved to be a Godsend. It all seemed so silly at first, like a joke book that would make you suddenly be free of all the negatives you think about and complain about in your life, but it can work.....more slowly for me (smile), but baby steps and all that. The book came with a purple bracelet you wear on your wrist, or use a ring or watch if you did not get one.....this will be your touchstone. It is a 21 day plan in which, hopefully, you'll learn what a complaint is, why you complain, and even how we can get others to stop complaining (I still have to see about that one!). Your goal is to go 21 days without complaining or gossiping (yikes!)....all this to form a new, positive habit. IF you do let a complaint slip or can't hold in a juicy piece of gossip, then you have to move the bracelet to your other wrist. If you have to keep moving that darn bracelet all the time it will dawn on you that you DO complain or gossip too much! The satisfying part is that people who have gone through the whole 21 days say they have felt the relief of chronic pain, improved their health and relationships, worked better at their jobs and have more joy in their lives. Sounds good to me. So now on day 3 I have had to move the bracelet once this morning already......I complained about the breakfast dishes in the sink not being cleaned and put away. Oh, well. Somehow I can also see this as a form of a "no nagging" device for your spouse's benefit....hmmmm? I will try and write more on day 21. If I make it through all 21 days my husband promised to wear the bracelet at that time, although he claims he doesn't complain or gossip. I told him it can be used as a "clean up after yourself" bracelet. Why not? Sounds like this could be fun!

I bought this book to try and be a more positive person. My goal is to stop complaining, gossiping and being negative. I wanted to learn how to be more positive about myself and those I came in contact with. I read this book twice and have gotten more insight into myself and how to improve my own mental health. I have purchased the purple wrist bands and am still trying to go 21 days without complaining and being negative. I hope to make it through those 21 days soon. I already am much more careful about what I say to my spouse and others. This has helped with my marriage and other relationships. I sincerely recommend this book to others.

  Easy yet valuable read

Such a brilliant and simple concept! There are countless books on positive thought, the Law of Attraction, rejecting negativity, etc. But this book is a breath of fresh air. A nice quick read, very straight forward, and incredible in that the concept of not complaining is applicable from the first page! Just put on your bracelet (or a rubberband if you don't have one) and move it to the other wrist each time you audibly complain or criticize. And there you are, you've started your challenge to go 21 days complaint free!!! This is supposed to lead to a greater sense of happiness, what could be better? The bracelet brings awareness of your verbal habits immediately, which I find valuable, regardless of if you ever meet the challenge. The best part is that the author and the company aren't in it for profit. They give away the bracelets for free and seem genuinely interested in improving the mood and state of the world. I definitely reccomend for anybody and any age.

Dosen't flow easily, but worth the time.

It can be a bit of a stiff read, but the content and intent behind it is very worthwhile. It will open your eyes to this culture of negativity all around us. The author gives you the tools to overcome negative thoughts that become words which spread to others. Also some research on quantum mechanics and how our thoughts and intent can affect our heath.

  Great Information

I bought this book because we're studying it at church. Great information and guide; not so easy to implement what I'm learning from it, but that's the whole point. I'd love to live in a "complaint free world."

This book can really change the way you live.

My husband and I read this book together and we loved it. Will Bowen has written an excellent book that will make you think before you talk and can really make big changes in your life. It's an easy read and the concept is great, but not easy to do. My husband actually threw his purple bracelet on the floor and stomped on it. I have to admit that I need to re-read the book and get back into the practice of not complaining. I did not make the 21 days, but I am thankful that I read this book and saw what complaining can do toour lives.

This book makes you more aware of complaining and trying to improve on that. A little repetitive but I did enjoy it.
