Industry Reviews See preceding entries. Sifakis' work is intended to be a consolidated Confederate companion set to Frederick H. Dyer's Compendium of the War of the Rebellion . It is organized into volumes by state, and there are chapters in each volume on the artillery, cavalry, and infantry. Within chapters, each entry starts with the unit's name, and includes nicknames, a summary of organizational details, a listing of the field-grade officers, the brigade and higher-level command assignments of the unit, a listing of battles and campaigns, and suggested further reading, if any. Selected bibliographies are also included for each volume. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or. Patsilelis
