Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles - Various Artists (CD 1993)

This album takes all these titles and acknowledges how timeless the Eagles music really is. When this all star group of country stars covers these titles it makes you realize the Eagles music will live forever.

I love the Eagles and wanted to hear other artists version of the songs. I was very pleased with the music. A great purchase.

Rarely, does an album of covers/remakes ever come close to sounding as good as the original songs.... but "Common Thread" is the exception.

Without trying to sound exactly like the recordings, the major country music stars of the 90's combine their signature sounds with the signature songs of the Eagles.

Not all of the songs on Common Thread are "home runs", but Little Texas (Peaceful Easy Feeling), Alan Jackson (Tequila Sunrise), and Brooks and Dunn (Best of My Love) are high quality covers, that even die hard Eagles fans would enjoy.

It is hands down, the best tribute CD that I own.
Yup. If you like the country sounding side of the Eagles, you will definitely like this CD. It stands up.

We all know that songs sound "best" when done by the original artists. But this album is very, very good. Some songs made the album that I didn't know were Eagles tunes. If you can find this album, and like country artists, get it.

I love this CD!! All the songs that were sung originally by the Eagles are reborn by various country music stars. I listen to the country music and am a big Eagles fan. (Not the Philadelphia Eagles, mind you.) They were an awesome group. I am a big softee when it comes to charity stuff that music groups and or music artists pile up together and combine themselves into one. I bought this CD because my grandmother was an Eagles fan. (The music group.) She owned a copy of this CD when she was alive and well. When she died, the entire album case, CD, and booklet was not to be found so I bought myself this CD to honor the memories we had as well as a shared fondness for the music group, the Eagles. This item was a really good buy as I could not find it in stores anywhere. A salesman laughed at me when I asked if they had this album in stock even though my memories are not to be toyed with. I am so glad that I found this CD and for a really good price. I am unemployed and could not pay for this for a while because of my credit cards missing. However, this nice guy that I won this item understood the circumstances being what they were. My hats off to that and the ebay seller who was so nice. I take this CD everywhere and always listen to it. I love it more and more each time I pop it in my CD player. Everybody I know wants a copy now that I have it in my large collection of CD's.
