What we've got here is a delightful collection of Eagles songs performed by various artists.. Start with Travis Tritt doing a song that sounds as though it was written just for him.. Hear "Desperado" done by Clint Black and "Tequila Sunrise" by Alan Jackson for a defined country twist to a couple songs.. "Lyin' Eyes" by Diamond RIO... Oh yes!! Report this review Tribute album measures upRarely, does an album of covers/remakes ever come close to sounding as good as the original songs.... but "Common Thread" is the exception. Without trying to sound exactly like the recordings, the major country music stars of the 90's combine their signature sounds with the signature songs of the Eagles. Not all of the songs on Common Thread are "home runs", but Little Texas (Peaceful Easy Feeling), Alan Jackson (Tequila Sunrise), and Brooks and Dunn (Best of My Love) are high quality covers, that even die hard Eagles fans would enjoy. It is hands down, the best tribute CD that I own. Yup. If you like the country sounding side of the Eagles, you will definitely like this CD. It stands up.
