THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON ABC - COMPARED TO THAT OTHER SHOW ABOUT THE PRESIDENT ETC IT WAS MUCH EASIER TO FOLLOW AND UNDERSTAND. ABC SHOULD HAVE GIVEN IT MORE CONSISTENCY WITH ITS AIRING. ON THE AIR FOR 3 WEEKS AND THEN OFF FOR 6 WEEKS DID NOT HELP THE SHOW TO GROW ON THE PUBLIC. I DO HOPE THEY WILL CHANGE THEIR MIND AND AIR IT FOR A SECOND SEASON.

This show is realistic, not only for its acting, I am sure the stories have been read in the news, the political goings on in our government. I was disappointed to find out they have not been renewed by abc. Maybe, after seeing the movie being made, it will be renewed. This is one show I was looking forward to watching weekly. Davis and Sutherland what can go wrong? Bring them back.

I loved this show and was very sad when it was cancelled. I think that the writing was wonderful and it really drew you in. This is a dvd that I will watch over and over.

One of my favorite shows. Hate that it was cancelled. Wanted to see it again & keep it. Geena Davis & Donald Sutherland work well together in this show. If there is a second dvd, I would also purchase. A woman president would be a good thing for the country although I would not vote for Hillary.

This was the best TV series. It was suspenseful and kept you on the edge of your seat. It gave me a good look into what a President faces, not just running the country and making life and death decisions, but the criticism and the party bull hockey and the favors and games that are played. What I disliked most wass that it only ran for one season and didn't have any closure. I decided to buy the DVD because I knew it would be something I'd watch over and over. I don't buy DVD's that I wouldn't want to watch more than a couple times. Anyway, I highly recommend it. There were great story plots and there were always a few stories going on along with the main theme. A GREAT watch!

I'll always believe that this show would still be on the air if Hillary wasn't running for President. The writing was excellent. The acting was excellent as evidence by emmy nominations for both Donald Sutherland and Gena Davis (Gena actually winning). It's obvious that ABC tried to kill off the series. ABC put the series on hiatus, replacing it with a ridiculous sitcom that lasted a couple weeks. Then when CIC was brought back it was placed in the same time slot against E.R. and Without A Trace. Are network producers really that incompetent? Sounds very suspicious....almost as if someone didn't want a female president portrayed in such a positive light. It's also suspicious that another network didn't pick it up.

I owned the 2nd part of the series and couldn't find the first part in any store. I loved the series but worked when it was on so now I get to enjoy it when ever it want.

I enjoyed watching this series the short time it was on. I was unable to see all the episodes and with this DVD have been able to fill in some missing pieces. I hope that the balance of the series is made available on DVD soon. I would enjoy seeing the series renewed. All the times it was preempted for whatever reasons did not help. This was a very good series.

Very well written dialogue and believable plot themes. Outstandingly well acted, especially by Geena Davis. Concept of a woman in the White House is brilliant and long overdue. Episodes cover contentious issues in a sensitive way, engage the viewer; at times gripping, but always with satisfying resolution. Can't wait for Part 3, if they ever go ahead with it. Highly recommended!

This IS very good! I enjoy to see this and hope, one day this would be happening as our future first woman to become President of USA. Also it (part 1 and 2) have with closed caption or caption for deaf is excellent.

I fully enjoyed the one and only season of Commander and Chief, and cannot wait to finish watching this Part 1 and then go on to Part 2.

Geena Davis is super in this role.............................................................................

I am still waiting to recieve my "latest" purchase...Almost a month late but being assured by the seller that it's "on the way".
I originally bid on the item because I worked on the show, enjoyed watching each episode, and wanted to explore the added features.

I'll let you know if I was happy with my purchase after I recieve it...but I think given the circumstances....if I ever get it, I'm goinna' love it.

i loved this show, and it is sad that it wasn't given a real chance....it showed what a real president can do....hopefully it will be bought back....there aren't really any good shows to watch anymore.

This was yet another great show which really never got a fair chance. It was shuffled around to three different days and times, and often was pre-empted. It was also put on hiatus for many weeks at a time. It was probably a little too high-brow for many - the certain kiss of death. I'm really not sure why this DVD set was released(since the networks apparently gave up on it months ago) but I'm glad it was. I'll file it with my copies of "Mr. Sterling" and the new "Fugitive", two other superior shows killed in the prime of life. I guess most folks were getting their intellectual challenge from "Survivor", "American Idol", and reruns of "Jackass". Very Sad!!

To bad the network folded under political pressure to cancel this show. One of the best to come across the airways in a very long time. Brings to light things that happen, or could happen, to a real president. Brings to broad daylight the viciousness that the politicians have toward each other, I'm sure they don't like that and is probably one of the reasons they wanted the show canceled. As to it having an agenda to push a certain senator from NY to the front of the public, nah, they're nothing alike. Ones power hungry, the one in the show is public service minded and the heck with what the public thinks. Just do the right thing.
