This is the all-time best comic book-related movie ever made. It's the story of two (rival) comic book shop owners who get wind of a "little old lady" that has a room full of old and valuable comics. There's only one problem: Each want to buy the collection for himself . . .but she ain't selling to nobody. This movie isn't for kids, due to the graphic violence, but it's perfect for the adult collectors because it brings out feelings and memories that only the older enthusiasts can relate to.

When I was a young comic book hunter, in the 1980's, I too would get wind of people who had a bunch of old comics. I'd get very excited until I discovered that "all they really had were a bunch of Classics Illustrated and Archies". This line was used almost verbatim in the film! To anyone reading this review who isn't into comics, those titles are practically worthless and a real disappointment when found.

Every comic book fan's fantasy is to find that high-grade collection, like in this film, and the scene where it's revealed will make your pulse begin to race. The ending has two climatic scenes that you (the hardcore collector) will just feel in the pit of your stomach, and I guarantee that you'll experience anxiety, anger, sorrow, envy and maybe even a coronary!

It doesn't matter if you collect Marvel or D.C., Spider-Man or Superman, Golden-Age or Silver-Age, because this movie appeals to the entire realm of comics! So type "Comic Book Villains" in the search engine, "Buy It Now", pay with Paypal and anxiously await its arrival because you won't be disappointed.

if you like comics and know the world of comicbook sellers
or would like to know, this movie is for you. it is a
fictional story about some collectors that go to some
extreme measures to get their hands on the prized collection
of a dead comic collector. crazyness ensues.

  Wow.....
Review created: 07/01/08

I waited a really long time to see this one but when I finally found a copy I wasn't the least bit disappointed. I think what most viewers will overlook is the fact that this could all really happen. It starts out rather comical but as the plot unfolds and we get one twist and turn after another, these characters really develop a presence of reality and the message of lives wasted hits hard.

What really stunned me about half way through was how far they were taking the story and by 3/4 of the way through, I realized that these events could genuinely play out in reality. The value of this comic book collection and what those seeking it out would be willing to do to possess it is beyond measure within the fictional world and the one we actually live int.

What reached me most of all were the messages layered through out this film relating to life, relationships and not throwing them all away or choosing them out of ease and comfort. I won't spoil things for you but the reason the mother refused to part with the collection is pretty heart breaking and really should inspire the viewers to take this story to heart. To die in insignificance only to leave your loved ones a collection of keep sakes rather than a collection of priceless memories is a fate far too many people in this world face.

I am actuall saddened by the fact that this film isn't widely known.
