This is the all-time best comic book-related movie ever made. It's the story of two (rival) comic book shop owners who get wind of a "little old lady" that has a room full of old and valuable comics. There's only one problem: Each want to buy the collection for himself . . .but she ain't selling to nobody. This movie isn't for kids, due to the graphic violence, but it's perfect for the adult collectors because it brings out feelings and memories that only the older enthusiasts can relate to.
When I was a young comic book hunter, in the 1980's, I too would get wind of people who had a bunch of old comics. I'd get very excited until I discovered that "all they really had were a bunch of Classics Illustrated and Archies". This line was used almost verbatim in the film! To anyone reading this review who isn't into comics, those titles are practically worthless and a real disappointment when found.
Every comic book fan's fantasy is to find that high-grade collection, like in this film, and the scene where it's revealed will make your pulse begin to race. The ending has two climatic scenes that you (the hardcore collector) will just feel in the pit of your stomach, and I guarantee that you'll experience anxiety, anger, sorrow, envy and maybe even a coronary!
It doesn't matter if you collect Marvel or D.C., Spider-Man or Superman, Golden-Age or Silver-Age, because this movie appeals to the entire realm of comics! So type "Comic Book Villains" in the search engine, "Buy It Now", pay with Paypal and anxiously await its arrival because you won't be disappointed.
