Comedy Writing Secrets, by Melvin Helitzer : The book is easy to read and understand, the author is knowledgeable in the subject matter. I would recommend this book for those interested in bettering their sense of humor by understanding what lies beneath. This book gives a great introduction to humor and will help anyone interested in learning the art of comedy as well as being extremely profound in parts. I enjoyed the jokes and the process thoroughly. The book is full of real-world techniques. Some of the jokes are weak, but to his credit he's not trying to make you laugh but to learn the techniques of comedy. This book teaches you how to sit down and after 30 minutes to produce some jokes.
