  "Deaners" rejoice!!

Had originally seen this on t.v. many moons ago. Since it has yet to be releasd to DVD, I had to reminisce on VHS. As a "Deaner," I shall always be partial to any film that revolves around the late, great James Dean. With that said, this dialogue-driven gem is one of a handful of Broadway adaptions that Robert Altman has tackled. As he often says, his first love is for the theatre. Cher proves that she's more than just another pop voice, and Sandy Dennis is on fire. If you tire of the today's mindless action/teenage farces, this closeknit film is sure to please.

  Come Back Again and Again

This movie contains excellent performances by the entire cast. Adapted from a stage play, the movie is a work of art in how it does its flashbacks. Set in a small town in Texas, the "Disciples of James Dean" meet for a reunion, and find that they're no longer in Kansas. Life moves on, and things that were taken for granted shouldn't have been, and neither should other things that had been swept under the rug. Nothing is as it seems. This movie makes you remember the turbulence of the 70s and the 50s.
