Not to be outdone by her counterparts like Aretha Franklin and Jody Watlley, who both released their own 1998 albums, Chaka Khan throws her hat into the ring with COME 2 MY HOUSE. Aided in the production department by that artist that doesn't want to be called Prince anymore, this album hits you with an eclectic mixture of funk and soul. In fact, the Artist's presence and inspiration can be felt on the album from the very first track. And aside from a few conceptual missteps like the ineffective collaboration with Queen Latifah on the track "Pop My Clutch," this album works pretty well. The unusual pairing of these two icons is testament to the notion that sometimes incongruity works.

Editorial Reviews
3 Stars (out of 5) - ...Her voice is an instrument of knowingness, carnality, spirituality and intellect. On COME 2 MY HOUSE...the voice is better than ever. If melted caramel had a sound, this would be it: rich, thick, warm and enveloping...
