Combat! - Season 1: Campaign 1 (DVD, 2004, 4 Disc Set)

I purchased the dvd because I suddenly have the urge to watch some good televison shows again. I am trying to get samples of tv classics to remember what I've been missing. Even though many of these shows are in black and white and quite simple, they are good entertainment. Combat is an example of an oldie that is of fine quality. No foul language, just entertainment.

I remember COMBAT! as one of the first TV shows that really hooked me. Even as a school-ager obsessed with WWII ordinance I was impressed with the extremely accurate sets, costumes, and props (remember this is less than 20 years after VE Day, so there was lots of surplus). In the early '90s The Nostalgia Channel (!) started to re-run the series, and as an adult I was impressed all over again with the depth of the stories and characters. Holy cow, the SOUNDTRACKS of these episodes are amazing! Really full orchestrations, there's nothing like this on TV today. If you're a fan you know. These DVDs seem to be in demand as they often command a pretty high price at auction. You get what you pay for, for me this is a real "blast from the past" that more than holds up to the test of time.

I was happy to find this item I'm in the process of getting the completer series and this gets me one step closer to my goal.

I bought this item for my husband and he was so happy with it. He had gotten season 2 from a friend and went on and on about how he had watched this on tv when he was younger. I had never heard of it and did not think I would be able to find it in just any store so I went on Ebay and found it right away. It does seem to be popular I had to bid on two or three of them and kept getting outbid, pretty much had to pay "buy it now" price to get it, but I am glad I did because it really did please my husband for his birthday.

I was a vivid watcher of Combat in the 60s, i have always been facinated with
WWII, If I had the money i would buy the complete series of Combat,
I feel secure dealing with E-Bay and Pay Pal, I enjoy finding things I want on E-Bay, I also buy Video games and sometimes movies. E-Bay is easy to find what you want, and easy to obtain what you desire. I enjoy my Videos of Combat and I am planning to purchase more in the future.

I watched this show as a child in the 60s and am just as impressed today! The acting and settings are very well done. This should be required material for all history courses studying WW2. Vic Morrow is still my hero!

I bought this as a gift for my brother, it was a show we watched as kids together. It arrived promptly, and it has very good quality of recording.

I bought it for a Christmas present for another person. I did not see the DVD's following delivery, but I was impressed with the speed (only a few days) wit which I received this order.

Not just another action series, the show is loaded with human interest accounts as well. It depicts realistic human situations. I would recommend it to anyone interested.
