Album Notes Skillet: John L. Cooper (vocals, piano, bass guitar); Korey Cooper (vocals, keyboards, programming); Ben Kasica (acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Lori Peters (drums). Recording information: Chicago Recording, Chicago, Ill. On their seventh full-length album, this Wisconsin-based quartet continues to pursue their heavy, hooky vision of what Christian music can be. Explosive drumming, molasses-thick guitar, and bewitching prog-metal melodies create a highly charged emotional atmosphere from which their lyrical meditations take flight. Even with a lyric sheet, it's hard to distinguish this from good old-fashioned devil's music, as the band probes topics like alienation, longing, and addiction without providing any pat sermons or answers. This is mature and heady stuff for a musical genre that is still finding its identity in the secular world. | Find errors in the product description? It starts out with an intense Rebirthing song, the song starts out sort of symphonic and never lets you down all throughout. Every song makes you want to listen to it over and over again, but the first and last songs are the best. Looking for Angels is the last song and it ends the CD on an awesome not. The song is different then any other song on the CD and most anything Skillet has ever done. I was impressed! Overall the mixing on the CD is great and the female back-up vocals are great, not to mention the lyrics are positive and exciting. It is hard to pull yourself away from this CD, so it is a definite buy! Review ID: 10000000002026902 Was this review helpful? Your seasoned sound and sanctified lyrics are awesome at any age. Faille love the ATF show. Review ID: 10000000002419470 Was this review helpful? It was Linkin Park with good musicians who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. The only knock on it was a lack of polish. Well, 3 years later, Comatose takes everything Collide did right and did it better and took everything it didn't do so well and went ahead and did that well to. The only downside to this record is that at times it seems more a collection of fantastic singles rather than an awesome album. This comes because of a couple songs like "Those Nights" where an observer would guess Jon Cooper has been listening to his share of FM Static and Relient K. All things considered, worth the price of admission. In the wake of Sanctus Real's disappointing third set, Comatose salvages the year, music-wise. This is the best CD to come out this calender year. Period. Review ID: 10000000002383602 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 03/05/07 by: 2 of 7 people found this review helpful. The Cd was cheap, no problems with shipping, or playing it but the CD is a promotional CD, I do not think that is right. Review ID: 10000000003090260 Was this review helpful? Skillet's music has always impressed me but this album shows a different level of performance. I think this is a great addition to any collection.
