Book 3 of the Shenendoah Series

This is another wonderful entry in the Shenandoah Sisters series. Together Katie, Mayme, Emma, and Aleta are doing well running the plantation until men after Uncle Ward's gold interfere. The writing was again powerful and moving. I love the relationships between the girls as well as the vibrant, well-studied historical setting. If you are new to the series, check out Angels Watching Over Me and A Day to Pick Your On Cotton (suitable for pre-teens and up). Fans of Christian lit might also be interested in Tracie Peterson, Karen Kingsbury, and the grande dame, Janette Oke.
