  "Compatiable" HP DesignJet 5000 cartridges

The cartridge that the printer DID eventually "recognize", has yet to really prove itself. Time will tell, but so far, so good.
After four different ones, we finally got one to work! The vendor WAS most helpful,(over-nighted replacements to me at his expense) however, numbers two and three were supposed to be "checked" before they were shipped, and maybe they were, but in my machine, they did not work.
So.... I guess it might be a pretty good deal, IF you are not under any time constraint. But, if that were the case, I would have shopped around for a genuine HP cartridge, which would have worked right off the bat!!
One more word, kinda related to this, but more to just online purchases in general.
I know, any prudent person would do so, and I surely WILL from here out.
About a year ago, when I was gathering the needed consumables to switch my HP 5000 from Dye to UV, I purchased a ValuePak (printhead/cleaner & cartridge) from what seemed a reputable dealer.
The packaging was pristine and the exp. date was the newest one I had gotten. However, when I opened it (13 months later) the printhead had been removed, and the box reglued. I contacted the seller, (very non-confrontational, HE might have gotten it that way) explained what had occured, offered to send pics of the obvious reglue job, volunteered that a long time had passed, and questioned if he had run into this before.
Now, it would seem if you were into selling in ANY venue, you would at least welcome complaints, if for no other reason than to placate the customer, but in this case, to also treat it as information that YOUR supplier might be less that honest (that is unless YOU are the one who is so).
Well.... You guessed it, NO RESPONSE!
Perhaps it is the litigious environment we live in today, you don't want to offer any sympathy, lest it be construed as an admission of guilt!
I know, I should have checked the merchandise upon receipt, but it is still a sad commentary on the state of eBay business, that this vendor has nothing to say. NOTHING!!
