A Good Place to Start

This is a good book for beginning artists. Edwards is a competent and logical teacher of art. Her approach reduces fear factors and confusion about color giving you tools for your own mode of working. You are not limited to any medium, either. Though she lists acrylics and oils for the media, I use water color pigments and had no problems with the exercises she gives in the book.
However, do not expect some kind of "miracle", but you may find "aha!" experiences taking place that will give positive reinforcement to your endeavors. Following the book, step by step, with patience and attention will produce positive results.
