There are some oddities, like a team that just hits a dry-spell for no apparent reason and can’t even make a simple lay-up, and there is a bit of a learning curve to fully appreciate the nuances of the game. The user interface can appear to be more painful than it actually is, but the game AI is very good.

From the courtside cameras, the game looks terrific. The players tend to lose something when seen up close, but the animations are solid.

Sound: 8.5
The ambience, from the crowd to the arena announcer, is there and the play-by-play is handled well by the trio of Verne Lundquist, Bill Rafferty and Tracy Wolfson.

Some more attention could have been given to the ‘create’ modes, but the additions made to this year’s release are very solid.

Online tourneys will challenge those who have the thirst of strong competition.

A very good game that should have fans of the college game excited. The 2K team has upped the ante when it comes to game mechanics and that makes College Hoops 2K8 an enjoyable and challenging experience.

I'm a huge NCAA Basketball fan and it's so much better and way more exciting than the NBA. College Hoops 2K8 was the last version 2K Sports will be making for college basketball and it's a shame because the series just kept getting better. 2K8 is very addicting, especially with the 2K Share option where you can download updated rosters and other files.

The new NCAA Basketball series by EA Sports began this year and their beginning title is nowhere near as good as College Hoops 2K8. The graphics may be a little better than 2K's offering, but the gameplay is world's ahead on the 2K side.

The only reason I gave it a 4 is because 2K could have done a little better on the graphics (especially the players faces) and a couple minor glitches in the game, but they aren't really anything to worry about because this game is really solid and you better grab a copy before they all get gone!

2K produces consistently solid titles every year and College Hoops 2K8 is no different. It received very good reviews from a number of gaming journals and blogs and felt that it would be a good choice for me. The game flows quite realistically and the the crowd noise adds to a great ambiance. On the negative side, some of the player moves are difficult to perform on a consistent basis, even in practice mode. Other than that, I recommend this game over other basketball titles.

I thought overall that this was the best college basketball game I have ever played. I purchased NCAA BB 09 and was ready to use it as a coaster after playing it for 5 minutes. 2K basketball knows how to capture college basketball, not EA.

Graphics 6.3
The graphics in this game are just plain okay. The players are better looking than last years edition but still missing the relism. The fans look horrible. The players look better up close but when from the gsme viw they look just plain horrible. Body Warping needs to be taken under controll.

Controlls 7.0
The controlls just add to the woes of this game with the tricky jukes and spins. Makeing a shot if your new to basketball games is tricky and will take at least 5 games to master. Controlls just don't match up to NBA Live or other basketball games. Just getting from the start menu is a challenge of its own and navigating through game modes. Whats up with missing brakeaway layups its just unheard of. In need of more realism.

This game was just bad in my opinion. 2K Sports needs to work on their basketball games a lot to ever compete with EA Sports. Drastic changes are nessacary if they plan to pass EA. I personally played this game for 20 minutes before I decided to put down the controller. Thanks For Reading.

THE GAME MECHANICS ARE TIMED BADLY... OPEN LAYUPS ARE OFTEN MISSED, BUT JUMP SHOTS ARE FINE... LAYUPS ARE MADE WHEN GUARDED , BUT MISSED WHEN PLAYER IS ALONE... WHATS UP WITH THAT... THE PLAYERS FEEL FUNNY AT TIMES..ALMOST AS IF THEY DON'T REACT THE WAY YOU MOVE YOUR CONTROLLER... I DON'T LIKE THE WAY THE CROSSOVER, SPIN MOVES OR ANY DRIBBLING MMOVES ARE DONE...THIS AGAIN GOES BACK TO THE MECHANICS AND CONTROLLER.. I THINK IT NEEDS SOME SERIOUS WORK...

A good game. Has a lot of teams to choose from to play the game with. Great baseketball game. I would give it a eight and a half out of ten.

Love - The downloadable rosters with the 2k share technology. I bought this because I've been a 2k fan since 2005.

Dislike - Seems that the gameplay engine is rather slow. Needs a speed adjustment.

One of the great things about this game is the game play, it is smooth, exciting, and realistic. Unlike past years, you actually have to fight your way to win, exercising your true skill. The coaching abilities are also great. At half time you get a set of notes that you can use to help improve your game.

In Legacy mode the recruiting is state of the art, and fun to use. There are also weekly tv reports that make the game even more realistic. With a half time report and post game show there is much potential for this to be the best NCAA b-ball game this year.

The only bad things about this game are the thousands of turnovers that happen in a game, and the shots that are missed when they shouldn't be.

Other than that, if you want a crowd cheering, testosterone filled game with dunks and alleys, then this is your game.

College Hoops is different than NCAA Basketball '08. The controls are different. It is a pretty fun game. I enjoy whooping everyone's butt in this game.

Great dynatsy mode, 2k makes better hoop games now. So much fun recruiting and scoutng prospects, especially when you strike gold; so rewarding!

This game is flat out the best college basketball game available. EA sports just can't cut it when it comes to basketball the way 2K sports can. Initially, I was waiting for College Hoops 2K9 to be released, but when I read that EA Sports bought NCAA rights, I was severley dissappointed and immediately went in search for 2K8.

Game Play is smooth, no glitches, realistic player movement and reaction. Deep fantasy career mode, true to life team rankings, and hundreds of alternate game options, from tourneys, drills, and seasons, all the way to create a play, player, chant, or school.

Great overall game. Very fun and worth the purchase, since 2k hasnt released a new 2009 version this game is still a great game to buy. Very deep legacy mode and very fun to take your team to the final four and win it all.

I love this game for the commentating and in depth recruiting. It is fun to play through and build up a small school or move on to larger, better offers. However, it is not the most realistic bball game out there and is not very difficult. With that said, I still greatly enjoy playing the game.

College Hoops 2K8 is a great game for any basketball fanatic on the planet. The gameplay is amazing, there is no glitches or any situations where the ball goes through one of your players. This video game is way more like real life than any other game I've ever played. I wish they would have continued making this game in 2009, because I believe they could've made a great game.

The price was cheap, shipping was cheap, and it was fast delivery. Highly recommended to others. The quality of it being used was in very good condition.

i bought this game used for 10 bucks. It sucks that they didnt make a new 2k9 college hoops but in 2k8 u can update the rosters so it its ok
