Collector's Guide to Postwar Lionel Trains 1945-1969 by David Doyle (2007, Paperback)

I purchased this guide on ebay for a price of $2.00 + shipping. The "list" price of the book is $19.99! The book is in brand new condition and publishing date is 2007.

The book is very handy and is a comprehensive price guide for virtually everything Lionel built in the post-war era. Since I am a Lionel collector, I use the guide when I am bidding on Lionel items on ebay and also take it to train shows with me. I have found it to be fairly accurate as a good barometer of market value for most items.

The guide is very easy to use has has the contents organized within the book by the gauge category. Within the gauge category everything is listed according to the Lionel item number consecutively so it's very easy to find things. The book also has sections on the collecting hobby,how to use the book, and a seperate section for accessories, toys and novelties. It even has a section on Lionel catalogs and paper products.

For each item, prices are given for very good, excellent and like new conditions as well as the rarity of the item. I have both the postwar and prewar editions of this book and find it extremely useful and of trmendous help.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in collecting Lionel trains.
