This Book is great and is written so the reader can find about everything that is necessary to start a Vogue Doll collection. The dolls are organized chronologically by year - and when a doll is not pictured in this book the authors make sure it is mentioned with the name of the doll in detail - and what she should be wearing for that year... no doll is left out. The photographs are wonderful! It is a must for the Vogue doll collector with a wealth of information... all you need to help you in your quest for Vogue doll collecting.

Izen and Stover's Collector's Encyclopedia of Vogue Dolls is a must-have for collectors of Toodles, Ginny, Jill and all the other dolls in the Vogue family. It provides a concise, informative history of Vogue dolls, plenty of photos (both in color and black and white) for reference, and a price guide for serious collectors. I'd noticed many references to the Encyclopedia but it wasn't until I ended up with an accumulation of partial Ginny outfits that I realized I needed to know just what I had and what I was missing to complete some ensembles. Most of Ginny's many outfits are pictured, in chronological order, from the 1940s through 2003. I also had a couple of vintage Ginny dolls of uncertain age and the Encyclopedia helped me positively identify them as transitional painted lash dolls. Just as a stamp collector shouldn't be without the Scott Catalogue, Ginny and other Vogue doll collectors shouldn't be without Izen and Stover's Encyclopedia. To date, it's the most comprehensive reference book on Vogue dolls I've come across and would rate it as a must-have for anybody interested in this area of doll collecting.

I bought this book because I am a doll collector and know very little about the Vogue Dolls. I was especially interested in identifying clothes I bought by lots on Ebay. The book has good pictures and identifying information. I was disappointed because I was unable to identify the clothes I bought. I knew they were Vogue because they were tagged. Overall this is a very informative book.

Best book I have purchased identifing Vogue dolls especially Ginny's. Wonderful photographs depicting the years dolls manufactered and the same with outfits. Highly helpful to any collector and seller of Vogue dolls. I refer to this book often.

This book is exactly what I was looking for. It has helped me identify several of my Ginny dolls and her outfits. This is important. When selling an object you need to give the buyer as much info as possible. This book has helped me do that and I have made more sales and have kept dolls that I know I really want to keep because of their value.
