Collector's Encyclopedia of Pendant and Pocket Watches 1500-1950 by Jeanenne Bell (2004, Hardcover)

I bought this book at an antique store and wish I had bought it on ebay. But even at the price I paid, it is an excellent book and I highly recommend it for those with interest in antique pocket watches. It is a 350+ page book of beautiful color photos, a history from the beginning of watchmaking, a diagram of a movement, a list of serial numbers of many watch companies, old ads, and even some price values of a few rare pocket watches. The only disappoint was not having a little history on Ingraham Watch Company.

It is easy to read, but mostly you will be very pleased with the layout of the book and the many, many color photos.

I like books(any informations)about pocket and wrist watches.This one has useful information and good pictures of rare watches

It is a very interesting book, but the highlight did to American watchmakers is highly valued!
Is regrettable, not giving more emphasis to European watchmakers and their works ...
After all it is still a great reference work even for those who want to start this interesting hobby, which is to "collect or admire" the Clocks that regulated the Unit of Time for tens of generations!

This book is one great book.The info is excellent,it has great pictures to help compare with other pocket watches.It is excellent for going back in time on antique watches.It has one of the best detailed information to read and explain all about antique watches.This would be a 5 star book.I got this book for my husband,so he could learn more on the antique watches he owns.He loves this book. This book is good for what gives information about. However it only has information and prices on very expensive watches. It should tell you up front that it doesn't include the more inexpensive watches. I find it nice to read but it gives little or no information that I need.

Covers most of the really high priced watches, but not enough information for the more affordable ones. However, it is very educational as far as the history of watch making and productions goes. Loaded with great pictures.
