Collector's Encyclopedia of Occupied Japan by Gene Florence (1990, Paperback)

I recently purchased this volume of Gene Florence's Occupied Japan books. His expertise on the subject of Occupied Japan and the beautiful items he dispays in the books is invaluable. The pictures are precise, the sizes and descriptions are true to the items. I am delighted with his book set-up. I especially look for pricing guidance. I have many pieces and am always wanting to know the values. Occupied Japan is definitely an interesting category of antiques; finding books or authors and/or experts on the subject is not always easy. I have other books by Gene Florence and I find the forwards to his books add to his background and to the history of the field of Occupied Japan items. I only dislike the fact that I cannot find more bookstores and the books themselves about this Occupied Japan field. Many of all the books written on this subject, in particular Gene Florence's are out of print, otherwise unavailable, or just too pricely.

any book no matter how old has useful information in it, the product is the same and the prices can only go up. a lot of people won't buy an older edition but a lot of the older ones have pieces that newer books don't mention. The author is well known and has alwaysbeen on top of his field
