Gems that weren't at the box office

My boyfriend and I loved this collection of shorts. I decided to get it because we both had wanted to see "West Bank Story", since the Academy Awards that showed just a bit of it. The entire short is even funnier than the small snippet shown there, detailing the tale of a falafel house and a Jewish fast food place. There's some good-bad singing to boot (there had to be, right?)
The whole collection turned out brilliant, however. It showed us shorts from around the world, in various styles of animation -- who could forget the fish in a bag that kept turning into a monster? -- and real acting -- like the old man in a closet who comes out eventually, after a long argument with his son and daughter, with surprising results! And then there was the Dutch piece with some great irony concerning their "national epic", "Karen Lavrensdottir".
This is a collection definitely worth seeing, for these and many other reasons. It's definitely inspired us to seek out other collections of shorts!
