Collecting Linens and Laces
This is published by Wallace Homestead in soft cover. It started with Embroidery Work and covered it quite extensively...including accessories and some stitches. Embroidery work includes cutwork and drawnwork. There is a short chapter on Battenburg lace , tatting, knitting and lots on crochet.
Only towards the end does it get into laces as we usually think of them(about 12 pages).
It does have a good picture of the pillow with the bobbins (this lace is either called pillow lace or bobbin lace) There is another short chapter on the evolution of the netting..
If you know nothing or are interested mostly in the embroidery or crochet aspect of lace, then this book could be quite interesting..
For me, it fell short.. I wanted to learn about laces and how to identify them.

Wonderful book with many, many illustrations. The author was very informative about the different linens and laces. Should you be collecting any of these wonderful items this book would be a very large help in your researching information.
